When our son was fifteen he found out he had an Osteosarcoma in his upper left leg and his [and our] world changed forever. We are thankful that the physiotherapist Hugh visited on that day knew what he was looking at, sent him straight to the radiographer and an accurate diagnosis was made. It was diagnosed early.
After successful treatment, surgery and further treatment Hugh is a cancer survivor, unfortunately this isn’t the case for many who are diagnosed with a sarcoma too late or incorrectly.
My motivation for being involved with Sock it to Sarcoma! and Ride and Stride is to improve community awareness about this rare cancer and raise money to go towards research to improve treatment. The end goal is to save lives.
